When you first jump into multiplayer in Call of Duty: WWII, you will be asked to enlist your soldier in one of five Divisions. Each of these specialized battle units is attuned to a weapon category or loadout preference, so you should choose your first Division based on your preferred gameplay style. For example, if you like running and gunning in close-quarters combat situations, consider the Expeditionary (shotguns) Division. Or, if you prefer to mow down the enemy with heavy fire, Armored (LMGs) might be the Division for you.
You are not bound to the first Division you choose. Divisions can be opened up with Unlock Tokens, allowing you to experiment with different weapons and playing strategies. You will also pick your Division before the start of every match and can change them within a match. That means, for example, if you find yourself in a map with long sightlines, you can switch to your Mountain Division and take advantage of the map's sniping positions.
As you rank up your soldier through normal gameplay, you'll also level up the Division you play in matches. Leveling up a Division unlocks skills training designed to strengthen the Division's gameplay style or weapon category.
You can also Prestige a Division after reaching Level 5. Prestiging a Division unlocks the fifth and final enhancement: a specialized classified weapon in the Division's weapon category.
Division Skill – BAYONET
Division Training – INFANTRYMAN III
As the tip of the spear, the Infantry Division caters to soldiers who are adept at engaging the enemy at any range. From the outset, each rifle in your arsenal comes equipped with a Bayonet that can execute one-hit melee kills. Further progression through the Infantry Division leads to an extra attachment slot, bonus magazines, and faster movement while aiming.
Division Skill – SUPPRESSOR
Division Training – PATHFINDER III
Airborne soldiers are the first on the fight and are rewarded with the option of attaching suppressors to all Submachine Guns, hiding you from mini-map exposure when firing in exchange for a bit of range. Training also enhances your soldier's sprinting and mantling skills, making your soldier the most agile on the battlefield.
Division Skill – BIPOD
Division Training – TANKER III
Soldiers who want to take on an entire army by themselves might lean toward the Armored Division. This Division starts your soldier with a bipod attachment for all LMGs, which stabilizes the LMG when prone or posted up behind waist-high cover. Training compliments the Division's namesake, as your soldier will become immune to the effects of nearby explosions and Tactical equipment while taking less fire and explosive damage.
Division Skill – SHARPSHOOTER
Division Training – SCOUT III
If you prefer to remain hidden but deadly from long ranges, the Mountain Division is for you. Armed with your sniper rifle in strategic vantage points, a Mountain soldier is the eyes of the rest of the squad. After beginning with the Sharpshooter skill, Division progression will train your soldier to remain silent and invisible to the enemy.
Division Skill – INCENDIARY SHELLS
Division Training – SAPPER III
Only the most skilled close-quarters soldiers should join the Expeditionary Division. Specializing in sabotage and covert operations, Expeditionary soldiers take the fight head-on with incendiary shotgun shells that engulf the enemy in a deadly conflagration. As your soldier levels up, you'll become an expert in carrying, finding, and handling Tactical and Lethal equipment.
