Take on endless waves of Walkers, each more dangerous than the last, in Herd Mode. Each wave of undead that is held off brings with it a new outbreak of hungry biters and new opportunities to rack up an even higher score.

Here are the basics that describe how Herd Mode is played:

The Herd mode will put you against increasingly numerous waves of Walkers in a map taken from the Lemon Hill level. The goal is to simply survive as many waves as possible.

The single player campaign takes you through a series of levels in a first person perspective. During play, you will fight against Walkers using both Melee and Ranged Weapons. Only hits to the head will kill Walkers.

Sometimes, a Walker will grapple with Daryl and attempt to bite him. When this happens, you must quickly attempt to center the aiming cursor on the Walker’s head and press the attack button to kill it. While grappled, Daryl’s health will go down at regular intervals and other Walkers can still attack. It is possible to cancel a grapple by shoving the Walkers at the exact moment that Daryl is grabbed.

Daryl will lose health when wounded, but can use Sports Drinks or Commercial MREs to heal. Running out of heal will kill Daryl and reload the latest checkpoint.

Upon dying, you may choose to quit or try again, and will be told if you have managed to beat your personal best performance.

The starting weapons are random on each attempt, but every weapon is available and hidden at preset locations on the map.

Between Waves
Between each wave, different types of ammo of will spawn in random amounts at random locations within the map. You will have an increasingly high amount of time to restock before the next wave.
