Skylanders SuperChargers for iOS and AppleTV General and On-screen Touch Control FAQ

The following article covers general and interface issues specific to the iOS and AppleTV version of Skylanders SuperChargers. “Interface Issues” refers to the game’s on-screen controls. General Questions

1. I was trying to install the game on to my iOS device when I received a message that I didn’t have enough memory to install it. How much memory does Skylanders SuperChargers require?

Skylanders SuperChargers requires at least 4.1 GB of free space in order to install. After installation however, the game will only require 2.9GB of free space on your iOS device.

2. I was playing the game and I exited from it to use another application. When I used the application’s shortcut on the desktop to resume the game, it restarted. What went wrong?

This is a rare issue that comes up when you return to your device’s desktop multiple times in rapid succession. It may also occur when using another application. To avoid this, try to avoid using other applications or returning to the desktop when playing Skylanders SuperChargers.

3. Does the game support split-screen multiplayer?

No. Split-screen is not supported in the iOS or AppleTV versions of the game.

4. I purchased the iOS starter pack but now I am getting prompted to purchase the game. How do I move past this screen?

If you are being prompted to purchase the game, do the following:

  1. Make sure the Bluetooth portal is connected.
  2. Remove the Hot Streak vehicle from the portal.
  3. Place Hot Streak back on the portal.
This should unlock the full game and you will be able to progress past the screen asking you to purchase the game.

On-screen Touch Control Questions

1. Whenever I try to use three inputs in the onscreen controls, the game doesn’t acknowledge the third input. What’s wrong?

Nothing. The game’s screen input controls have been redesigned to never require more than two inputs at the same time.

2. I put my device to sleep or locked it for a while. When I started playing again, the application had restarted and I lost progress made in a level. What happened?

Nothing. When put to sleep or locked in standby mode for a while, the device will attempt to free up unused memory by shutting down the application. To avoid this, don’t keep the device sleeping for an extended period of time while playing the game.

3. There are no settings to choose between a local save file and my iCloud save file. How do I choose which type of game saving I’d like to use?

Skylanders SuperChargers automatically defaults to saving on the iCloud if the system is logged in. To choose to use a local save file instead of the iCloud save, simply shut down the application and log out of the iCloud.

4. I was looking at the carousel that lists all of the Skylanders and I noticed that some of the portraits and “magic moment” videos were missing. What happened and how can I fix this?

This is an issue specific to older versions of iOS. Upgrading your device to iOS 8.4 or better should resolve this issue.

5. I was using the touch controls and waiting for the other player to start a race when I found that I couldn’t access any game menus. What happened and is there a way to fix this?

This is a rare issue that only comes up while using the on-screen touch controls. To avoid this, use a Bluetooth Low-energy controller or a third-party controller to access menus or leave a game. If you are only using the on-screen touch controls and you want to leave the game, you’ll need to shut down the application and restart it.
