How backward compatibility works along with specifics for Activision games


Through Xbox One's Backward Compatibility program, players can use their Xbox One console to play select disc-based and digital titles released on Xbox 360. Check out the Xbox One Backward Compatible Game Library for a full list of titles available.

Call of Duty games

You can now play the Xbox 360 version of select Call of Duty games on your Xbox One! Xbox Support is the best place to get support on any questions on playing Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One.


Yes. Previous enforcement actions taken on an account remain active.

Yes. All stats, challenge progress, unlocked items, and custom classes from previous Call of Duty gameplay remains. You are simply playing the same game but on a different console.

Call of Duty 2
No, DLC compatibility is not part of the backward compatibility program for Call of Duty 2. DLC content previously purchased on Xbox 360 is not available to play on Xbox One.

Yes, DLC content previously purchased on Xbox 360 is available to play on Xbox One.

Backward compatible versions of Call of Duty games can be purchased digitally through the store on xbox.com. You can also pick up a disc through any participating retailer.
