The Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 4 Open Beta ¹ is your chance to preview and experience the incredible innovations coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer as well as provide valuable feedback to help ensure the best Day One experience possible when the game launches worldwide on October 23.

Secure Early Access to the Open Beta by preordering or prepurchasing any edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on XBOX Series X|S and XBOX on PC (XBOX Play Anywhere ²), PlayStation 5, Battle.net, or Steam.

1. Where can I preorder or prepurchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4?

Digital editions

Digital editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are available for preorder on XBOX Series X|S and XBOX on PC (XBOX Play Anywhere ²) and PlayStation 5. PC players can prepurchase on Battle.net and Steam.

Physical editions

Physical Editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 are available for preorder on XBOX Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles through select retailers.

2. Do I need a code to get Early Access to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta?

Digital editions

No code is required. Registration for Early Access to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta is included with all digital preorders or prepurchases through platform stores or the Call of Duty in-game store. When Early Access begins, you’ll be able to download the Open Beta immediately.

Physical editions

If you preorder a physical edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a code will be required to register for Early Access to the Open Beta. An Early Access code will be provided by your retailer. In most cases, the Early Access code will be printed on the retail receipt or sent to you via email on an online receipt.

If you did not get an Early Access code with your preorder, please reach out to your retailer.

3. How do I redeem an Early Access code for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta?

Head over to callofduty.com/betaredeem and follow the instructions on the page to secure your spot for Early Access to the Open Beta.

You'll need to be logged in to your Activision account to enter your Early Access code. If you don't have an Activision account, you can create a free one.

Once your Early Access code is successfully redeemed, you’ll receive a success message confirming your registration for Early Access.

Before the Beta begins, players who registered with a code will receive an Early Access Beta token via email. This token can only be redeemed on the platform you selected when you redeemed your Early Access code.

To ensure you receive updates on the Open Beta, double-check your email address and make sure it is up to date in our system. Log in to your Activision account to check or make changes to your registered email address.

Please note: Early Access codes are only required for physical edition preorders or when preordering a code for a digital version of the game through a retailer. If you preordered a digital edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on a platform store or through the Call of Duty in-game store, you don’t need a code to gain Early Access to the Open Beta.

4. What should I do if I lose, can’t find, or can’t read my Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta Early Access code?

If you've lost, can't find, or can't read the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta code that you received for preordering, please contact your retailer to recover your Open Beta Early Access code.

5. Where can I check my Early Access status for the Open Beta?

Head over to callofduty.com/betaredeem to check your Early Access status. A message will appear stating that you've redeemed a code, indicating you’re registered to participate in Early Access.

6. Will an Early Access Beta Code allow me to play the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta on all my linked platforms?

No. When you register for Early Access, you’ll be asked to select the platform you want to play on, and you'll receive one code only for the platform you choose.

7. When will I get my Early Access Beta token?

Early Access Beta tokens will be delivered via email close to the beginning of Early Access to the Open Beta.

After the Early Access Beta tokens are emailed, they will also be available when you log in to callofduty.com/betaredeem.

Activision will send your Early Access Beta token to the email address associated with your Activision account.

8. Is the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta available worldwide?

Availability of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta will vary by territory and retailer.
