No. Boosts do not function in Time Trial mode. They will still be consumed if equipped however, so be sure not to use them when entering a Time Trial.
Mods are only selected at the upgrade station. In order to actually use a mod, you’ll need to equip it in the racing menu.
High Volt’s Driver Challenge can’t be completed in racing mode. The challenge needs to be completed in story mode.
This is something that can occur when you complete multiple races in a row. Returning at the Skylander Academy between races fixes this issue.
You’ll need to be a bit patient. The game will not inform you that the other player is busy in an online race menu setting up a lobby for an online race. Once the lobby is set up you should be able to proceed normally.

If you're in a multiplayer lobby during the countdown and the race doesn't begin, it means that the race's host has lost his or her Internet connection. You'll need to return to the race menu and start a new lobby.
This can happen when your Internet connection is lost and quickly regained while the parental warning message is on the screen. Simply back out the main menu or restart the game to resolve the issue.
This can happen when you collide with something and do a barrel roll. Avoid using barrel roll when you are near a collision to avoid this issue. If it doesn’t happen, you’ll have to restart the race.
This can happen when you minimize the game using the Home menu button. All racers need to be in-game at the start of the race to avoid this issue.
This occurs when you hold the primary attack button for a long period. Releasing the attack button when there’s no box to destroy avoids this issue.
This occurs when your vehicle goes in the wrong way between the door and the outside wall. Restarting the race fixes this issue.
This occurs when your vehicle falls near a wall when dropping to a lower platform. If you rotating your vehicle until it faces the wrong way and respawns, it will fix this issue.
This issue occurs when your vehicle is defeated or if you press the brake button while taking the last speed boost. You’ll have to restart the race.
This occurs when your vehicle lands at a very precise spot on the platform. To fix, drive your vehicle outside of the map. This should cause it to reappear on the track and allows you to progress in the race.
This occurs when your vehicle is next to the wall while using the first Boost Pad. You’ll need to restart the level to resolve this issue.
