Everything you need to know about the Dark Edition starter sets

Since the launch of Skylanders, some of the most exciting, sought-after figures for Skylanders collectors have been the Dark Edition characters. Found only in Dark Edition Starter Sets, these rare black and silver figures are sure to be the crown jewel in any Skylanders collection. Upon the release of Skylanders SuperChargers, a number of new Dark Edition characters will be available for purchase. This FAQ will tell you all you need to know about getting your hands on them.

1. Let’s start at the beginning. What is a Dark Edition?

A Dark Edition is a special edition Skylander that is colored black and silver rather than their normal bright colors. They’re highly prized by Skylanders collectors and they can normally only be found in special Dark Edition Skylanders Starter Packs.

2. So what’s a Skylanders Starter Pack?

A Skylanders Starter Pack has everything you need to start your Skylanders adventure. In the case of Skylanders SuperChargers, it contains a copy of the game, new SuperChargers Skylanders, a new SuperChargers vehicle, a multi-sided collector’s edition poster, and a new Portal of Power.

The Dark Edition Starter Pack contains an extra Skylander, an extra vehicle, and the very rare Kaos Cup. You can recognize a Dark Edition Starter Pack by the midnight blue color of the packaging as well as the words “Dark Edition” on the front of the box.

3. Which characters and vehicles can be found inside the Xbox Dark Editions?
