A.B.C. Error Messages in Call of Duty: Black Ops III

What to do if you receive an error message beginning with A.B.C. in Call of Duty: Black Ops III

abc error

Question: I got an A.B.C. error message when trying to get into Multiplayer in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Why is this happening?

Answer: A.B.C. errors can occur for a variety of reasons. In some cases, an update deployed while you were playing or you were connected online. These errors can also occur when there are general service interruptions.

Please note: The example shown above is just one version of an A.B.C. error message. While you might receive an error message that looks slightly different, the cause and troubleshooting are the same.

If you receive an A.B.C. and want to check for potential updates, follow these steps:

  1. Restart the game.
  2. Wait on the main title screen before pressing X or A to start.
  3. Allow the game to update on the main loading screen. You'll know if an update installed if the version number in the upper right-hand corner changes. Updates should only take about a minute depending on your connection speed.

If no updates were required, a service interruption might have occurred. Reboot your console to establish a fresh connection.
