Details about accessibility features available in Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera

Below you will find information about the various accessibility benefits and features available in Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Caldera.

If you experience any issues, have any concerns, or run into any barriers preventing you from playing and enjoying the game, we want to hear from you. Please reach out to us and be sure to include as much detail as possible.

1. Is there an easy way to view the accessibility options in the game?

Yes! As of May 19th, 2021, there is an Accessibility Options menu in the game that provides a pared-down list of settings that are specifically oriented towards accessibility. There are several categories of Accessibility settings, including: Visuals, Audio, Keyboard & Mouse, and/or Controller.

Players can access this menu from the main blades menu immediately upon launching the game. To do so, launch Warzone Caldera and select Accessibility from the button options at the bottom of your screen. Alternatively, players can access the Accessibility Options menu from the existing Options menu. To do so, open the Options menu and select Accessibility from the button options at the bottom of your screen.

2. What Subtitle options are available?

Cinematic speech and in-game dialogue can both be presented through Subtitles, which are Disabled by default. You can choose to Enable subtitles. Tooltips are shown when hovering over specific elements for a short delay and are Enabled by default.

Open the Options menu and select the General tab.

  • Subtitles - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Tooltips - Options: Enabled or Disabled

3. Can I change the actions for the controller buttons?

Yes. Open the Options menu and select the Controller tab. Under BR Button Layout, you can pick from several controller button layout options:

  • Default
  • Tactical
  • Lefty
  • NOM4D / Charlie
  • NOM4D / Charlie Tactical
  • NOM4D / Charlie L3F7Y
  • Bumper Jumper
  • Bumper Jumper Tactical
  • One-Hand Gunslinger
  • Stick and Move
  • Brawler
  • Beast
  • Bumper Ping
  • Bumper Ping Tactical

You can also choose to flip the left and right bumper and trigger buttons. Under Stick Layout Preset, you can pick from several options to adjust the functionality of the controller sticks:

  • Default
  • Southpaw
  • Legacy
  • Legacy Southpaw
  • Southpaw No Click Swap
  • Legacy Southpaw No Click Swap

4. Can I turn off the controller vibration?

Yes. Open the Options menu and select the Controller tab. Controller Vibration is Enabled by default. You can choose to turn controller vibration functionality off by selecting Disabled.

5. What other controller options are available?

Additional settings to customize player controls and input are available in the Options menu under the Controller tab:

  • Invert Vertical Look - Options: Disabled, Airplanes Only, or Enabled
  • Deadzone - Options: Adjust the controller deadzone that represents the inner range in which stick input will not be registered on a scale of 0.00 - 1.00
  • Horizontal Stick Sensitivity - Options: Choose desired horizontal sensitivity on a scale of 1 (low sensitivity) to 10 (highly sensitive)
  • Vertical Stick Sensitivity  - Options: Choose desired vertical sensitivity on a scale of 1 (low sensitivity) to 10 (highly sensitive)
  • ADS Sensitivity Multiplier Low Zoom - Customize the stick sensitivity on a scale of 0.10 to 2.00 while Aiming Down Sights (ADS) with magnification levels less than 3.25x
  • ADS Sensitivity Multiplier High Zoom  - Customize the stick sensitivity on a scale of 0.10 to 2.00 while Aiming Down Sights (ADS) with magnification levels equal to or greater than 3.25x
  • Aim Response Curve Type - Options: Standard, Linear, or Dynamic
  • Controller Vibration - Options: Enabled or Disabled

Weapons

  • Aim Assist - Options: Disabled, Standard, Precision, or Focusing
  • Weapon Mount Activation - Options: Disabled, Double Tap ADS, ADS + Melee, or ADS
  • Weapon Mount Movement Exit - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Depleted Ammo Weapon Switch - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Aim Down Sight Behavior - Options: Hold or Toggle
  • Equipment Behavior - Options: Hold or Toggle
  • Use/Reload Behavior - Options: Tap to Reload, Tap to Use, or Contextual Tap
  • Armor Plate Behavior - Options: Apply One or Apply All

Movement

  • Slide Behavior - Options: Hold or Tap
  • Auto Move Forward - Options: Enabled or Disabled

6. What options are there to choose between toggle and hold functionality?

Open the Options menu and select the Controller tab. Under Weapons, you can choose between Hold or Toggle functionality for several interactions:

  • Aim Down Sight Behavior - Options: Hold or Toggle
  • Equipment Behavior - Options: Hold or Toggle
  • Use/Reload Behavior - Options: Tap to Reload, Tap to Use, or Contextual Tap
  • Armor Plate Behavior - Options: Apply One or Apply Al

Open the Options menu and select the Controller tab. Under Movement, you can choose between Hold or Toggle functionality for several interactions:

  • Slide Behavior - Options: Hold or Tap
  • Auto Move Forward - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Automatic Sprint - Options: Enabled or Disabled

For Keyboard & Mouse input, we also provide these customizable behaviors within the Keyboard & Mouse options:

  • Crouch Behavior - Options: Toggle, Hold, or Go To
  • Prone Behavior - Options: Toggle, Hold, or Go To
  • Automatic Airborne Mantle - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Sprint/Tactical Sprint Behavior - Options: Toggle or Hold
  • Hold to Use - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Weapon Switch Minimum Delay - Options: Minimum time in milliseconds before being able to switch weapon again on a scale from 0.00 - 500.00 milliseconds
  • Weapon Switch Wrap-Around - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Weapon Mount Exit Delay - Options: Amount of time in milliseconds a movement input must be held before being registered to exit Weapon Mounting on a scale from 0.00 - 500.00 milliseconds
  • Change Zoom/Toggle Hybrid Behavior - Options: Sprint/Tactical Sprint/Steady Aim Keybind, Melee/Finishing Move Keybind, or Change Zoom/Toggle Hybrid Keybind
  • Scoreboard Behavior - Options: Toggle or Hold
  • Map Behavior - Options: Toggle or Hold
  • Map Cursor - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Inventory - Options: Toggle or Hold
  • System Key Behavior - Options: Operating System or Game

7. What options are available for players who have a color vision deficiency?

The game aims to pair important color cues with accompanying differences in silhouette and audio to accommodate players with color vision deficiencies. Additionally, the game offers color correction options for further enhancements.

Open the Options menu and select the General tab. Under Accessibility, you can choose from several color blindness options:

  • Colorblind Type - Options: Protanopia, Deuteranopia, or Tritanopia
  • Colorblind Target - Options: World, Interface, or Both

8. Can I adjust the brightness?

Yes. Open the Options menu and select the General tab. Under Screen, you can adjust the brightness of the display on a sliding scale.

9. Can I adjust the in-game mini map?

Yes. Open the Options menu and select the General tab. Under HUD, you can adjust the shape and rotation of the mini map:

  • Mini Map Shape - Options: Round or Square
  • Mini Map Rotation - Options: Enabled or Disabled

10. Can I adjust the in-game compass?

Yes. Open the Options menu and select the General tab. Under HUD, you can choose between letters or numbers for the compass cardinal direction text:

  • Compass Cardinal Direction Text - Options: Letters or Numbers

11. Are there options to filter the content in the game?

Yes. Open the Options menu and select the General tab. Under Content Filters, you can choose to enable several content filters:

  • Text Chat - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Profanity Filter - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Dismemberment & Gore Effects - Options: Enabled or Disabled

Additionally, the Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera team continuously works to remove offensive usernames and provide in-game resources for our players to report content they feel may be offensive.

12. Can I adjust the motion blur?

Yes. For console players, open the Options menu and select the General tab. Under the Accessibility subcategory, you can enable or disable world motion blur and weapon motion blur. For Keyboard & Mouse input, open the Options menu and select the Graphics tab. Under Post Processing Effects, you can enable or disable the world motion blur or the weapon motion blur:

  • World Motion Blur - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Weapon Motion Blur - Options: Enabled or Disabled

13. What audio options are available?

Open the Options menu and select the Audio tab. From there, you can customize various elements of your sound and audio volumes:

Volumes

  • Master Volume - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 100.00
  • Music Volume - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 100.00
  • Dialogue Volume - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 100.00
  • Effects Volume - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 100.00
  • Juggernaut Music - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Hit Marker Sound Effects - Options: None, Classic, or MW
  • Mono Audio - Options: Enabled or Disabled

War Tracks

  • War Tracks As A Passenger - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • War Tracks Volume - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 100.00

For Keyboard & Mouse input, we also provide the following option to customize under the Audio tab:

  • Show Mute Sound Widget - Options: Enabled or Disabled

14. What voice chat options are available?

Open the Options menu and select Audio. From there, you can customize various elements of your Voice Chat options:

  • Voice Chat - Options: Enabled, Disabled, Mute Everyone Except Party, or Mute Everyone Except Friends
  • Voice Chat Device - Options: Default communication Device or Default System Device
  • Open Mic Recording Threshold - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 100.00
  • Voice Chat Volume - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 400.00
  • Microphone Volume - Options: Customize this volume on a sliding scale of 0.00 - 400.00
  • Voice Chat Effect - Options: No Effect, Stealth Comms, or Classic Chatter

For Keyboard & Mouse input, we also provide the following options to customize under the Audio tab:

  • Microphone Activation Mode - Options: Push to Talk or Open Mic
  • Voice Chat Push to Talk - Options: Customize the button this action is tied to
  • Show Mute Voice Chat Widget - Options: Enabled or Disabled

15. Is there a Tutorial available?

Yes, the game offers Practice Modes the first time you launch the game. You can also access the Practice Modes any time by navigating to the Warzone Caldera lobby screen and selecting Private Match, Practice Modes & Trials from the game mode playlist menu. The Practice Modes offer insight into core features and actions players will need to know to be successful in the Warzone Caldera:

  • Warzone Caldera Orientation
  • Battle Royale Practice
  • Plunder Training

16. Can I change the language?

Yes. For console players, open the Options menu and select General, and then use the Language option to select your preferred language.

For PC players, open the game Options menu on the Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera page. Select Game Settings and choose the desired Text & Spoken Language.

17. What options are available for using a mouse input?

When using Keyboard & Mouse input, open the Options menu and select the Keyboard & Mouse tab. Under the Mouse subcategory, you can customize various options for a mouse input:

  • Mouse Sensitivity - Options: Customize the overall mouse sensitivity or individual sensitivity multipliers on sliding scales.
  • Aim Down Sight (ADS) Mouse Sensitivity - Options: Customize the overall mouse sensitivity or individual sensitivity multipliers on sliding scales.
  • Invert Mouse Look - Options: Disabled, Airplanes Only, or Enabled
  • Mouse Acceleration - Options: Customize the aim speed when making quick mouse movements on a sliding scale.
  • Mouse Filtering - Options: Customize how much the mouse input of the previous frames is taken into consideration on the current frame.
  • Mouse Smoothing - Options: Enabled or Disabled

18. What graphics and display options are available on PC?

On PC, open the Options menu and select the Graphics tab to customize the graphics and display settings for the game:

Display:

  • Render Resolution
  • Framerate Limit - Options: Unlimited or Custom

Details & Textures:

  • Texture Resolution - Options: Very Low, Low, Normal, or High
  • Texture Filter Anisotropic - Options: Low, Normal, or High
  • Particle Quality - Options: Low or High
  • Bullet Impacts & Sprays - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Tessellation - Options: Disabled, Near, or All
  • Streaming Quality - Options: Low or Normal

Shadow & Lighting:

  • Shadow Map Resolution - Options: Low, Normal, High, or Extra
  • Particle Lighting - Options: Low, Normal, High, or Ultra
  • DirectX Raytracing - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Ambient Occlusion - Options: Dynamic Objects, Static Objects, or Both
  • Screen Space Reflection (SSR) - Options: Disabled, Low, Normal, or High

Post Processing Effects:

  • Anti-Aliasing - Options: Off, SMAA 1X, SMAA T2X, or Filmic SMAA T2X
  • Depth of Field - Options: Enabled or Disabled
  • Filmic Strength - Options: Customize the amount of temporal blurring vs. image stability when anti-aliasing the scene on a sliding scale from 0.00 to 1.00
  • Film Grain - Options: Adjust the strength of the visual noise applied in-game on a sliding scale from 0.00 to 1.00

To adjust the Field of View on PC, open the Options menu and select the General tab. The Field of View options are listed within the Screen subsection.

19. Can I change or remap the keybinds for Keyboard & Mouse?

Yes. The game supports fully remappable keybindings for Keyboard & Mouse input, allowing players to customize which actions are tied to which buttons.

To customize the keybinds and achieve your desired setup, open the Options menu and select Keyboard & Mouse. Visit each subcategory –  Mouse, Movement, Weapons & Equipment, Killstreaks & Vehicles, Overlays & Shortcuts, and Menu Navigation – to customize each aspect of your interaction experience.
