A guide to getting into the Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta

Early Access Beta tokens are now being delivered to all players. If you've registered for Early Access to the Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta, your Early Access Beta token will be sent via email and can also be accessed on the Vanguard Beta redemption page.

Please note: The Vanguard Beta redemption site only displays the status for players who redeemed an Early Access Beta code on the site. If you pre-ordered a digital version of the game through your platform's marketplace, you’re automatically validated to participate in the Beta. When the Beta begins, you will be able to download and install the Beta immediately.

1. I redeemed a Beta code on What happens next?

You'll be emailed an Early Access Beta token before the Beta officially begins on your platform. The email will be sent to the address attached to the Activision account you used to redeem your Beta code, and your Early Access Beta token is only valid on the platform you chose when registering.

Once you receive your Early Access Beta token, redeem the code through your platform's store.

PlayStation 5

  1. Go to Settings and select Users and Accounts.
  2. Under Account, select Payment and Subscriptions, then select Redeem Codes.
  3. Enter the code and select Redeem.


Xbox Series X and Xbox One

  1. From the Home screen, select and open the Store app.
  2. Press the View button on the controller to open the side menu.
  3. From that menu, select Redeem.
  4. Enter the 25-character code ignoring hyphens, and then follow the prompts.


PlayStation 4

  1. Go to PlayStation Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and select Redeem Codes.
  3. Enter the code and select Redeem.

2. What do I do if I didn't get an Early Access Beta token email from Activision?

Early Access Beta tokens are emailed to the email address on the account you used to redeem your Beta code. After the email is sent, you can also find your Early Access Beta token on

3. How do I participate in the Open Beta?

On September 16th at 10 AM PT, the Vanguard Beta opens for all PlayStation players. The Beta then opens for all players on all platforms on September 18th at 10 AM PT.


PlayStation and Xbox

To download the Beta on a console, search for Vanguard in the store and select Download. Once the Beta is finished installing, select the Vanguard Beta tile from your platform's homescreen to begin playing.

To download the Beta on

  1. Go to the Call of Duty: Vanguard game page.
  2. Open the GAME VERSION dropdown menu and select Beta.
  3. Select Install.

Once the Beta is finished installing, you can launch the Vanguard Beta from your game library.

4. I’m having trouble installing the Beta. What should I do?

Here are a few troubleshooting tips for installation issues:

  • Make sure that your console is up to date with the latest firmware.
  • Make sure your console is connected to the internet before starting the installation.
  • Keep your console connected to the internet throughout the entire installation.
  • Allow the installation to complete before attempting to access the Beta.
  • Make sure your console is set to your current region.

5. What can I do if I’m experiencing long download times?

You might experience slow downloads due to activity on your network, your region, or the speed of your internet connection.

To optimize your download speed, avoid other bandwidth-heavy applications while downloading the Beta. We also recommend using a wired connection.
