Physical cards are a big part of the Skylanders Battlecast experience. They’ll open a gateway to a new world of Skylanders battles where the greatest heroes of Skylands fight for you! If you’re having issues with your physical cards this article will address the most commonly encountered.

Battlecast cards are classified as Common, Rare, Epic, and Ultimate. This designation not only indicates how difficult a particular card is to find, but also how powerful it is in the game when scanned into the Battlecast app.
Common cards can be identified by the grey symbol on the bottom middle of the cards and when scanned into the Battlecast app will be added to the player’s Collection at level 1.
Rare cards can be identified by the blue symbol on the bottom middle of the cards.
Epic cards can be identified by the purple symbol on the bottom middle of the cards.
Ultimate cards can be identified by the gold symbol on the bottom middle of the cards.
There will be over 300 cards in total for players to collect. These include:
Character cards represent the warriors you’ll take with you into combat. They bear the likenesses of classic Skylanders characters such as Spyro, Snap Shot, and Storm Blade. A game of Battlecast will require the player to select three Skylanders character cards to take into battle.
These are various attacks and effects that can be cast by any character. Each is linked to one of the ten Skylanders elements
These are special powers that can only be used in combat by a specific Skylander.
These are attacks and effects that can be used by any character. While usually not as powerful as elemental spells, they have the benefit of not being element-specific and can slip through defenses designed to block elemental powers.
Gear cards are devices that are attached to a specific character and apply specific affects only to that character. A character can only wear one piece of Gear at a time. Active Gear will be destroyed when a new piece of Gear is applied to the character.
Relic cardsRelics are powerful objects that are played on the battlefield that place some sort of global effect on the battle. Each team of three Skylanders can only place down have one active Relic at a time. Relics also have their own Life counters and can be targeted just like enemy Skylanders.
Silver and Gold cards are special versions of cards that, when scanned into your Collection, are entered at level 10 for that version. Silver and Gold cards also have special animations when viewed in your Collection.
Cards can be leveled a total of 20 times. Common cards begin at level 1 and can be leveled up to Common level 9. When a Common level 9 card gains another level, the card will become Silver with a level of 10. A Silver level 10 card can then be leveled up nine more times, going from Silver level 10 to Silver level 1, and then progressing up to Silver level 9. Silver level 9 cards can then be leveled up one more time to achieve Gold level 10, the ultimate card level.
Please note: Leveling up a card does not change the card's health, power, or cost to play the card. However, leveling up cards increases your overallSkylanders Level, which will ultimately unlock certain Story missions.

No. Skylanders Battlecast is free to play. You’ll receive a starter pack of digital cards for free as soon as you download and boot up the game.

No. Once a physical card is scanned into a Collection it cannot be scanned again. However, a physical card will retain its Augmented Reality features after being scanned so you can always use your mobile device to bring a card to life or use it to duel against another card.
First, make sure you are logged in to your Game Center or Google Play account. Cards cannot be scanned without being logged in.
