Before installing on consoles
Make sure your console is up to date
Before beginning any game installation on a console, we recommend making sure your console’s system software is up to date. Follow the steps below to check for updates manually. Be sure to allow any updates to install completely before beginning your game installation.
Checking for updates on Xbox consoles
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
- Select Profile & system.
- Select Settings.
- Select System, then select Updates.
- If you see a Console update available under Updates, select the update to download and install.
- Follow the onscreen steps to complete the update.

Checking for updates on PlayStation 5
- Select the Settings menu from the PlayStation 5 home screen.
- Select System.
- In the System Software section, select System Software Update and Settings.
- Select Update System Software if an update is available.
- Follow the onscreen steps to complete the update.
You can also set your PlayStation 5 to Download and Install updates automatically within the System Software Update and Settings menu.

Checking for updates on PlayStation 4
- Select the Settings menu from the PlayStation 4 home screen.
- Select System Software Update.
- Install any available updates.
- Follow the onscreen steps to complete the update.

Digital installations
If you buy the game from your console's store, follow the steps after your purchase to download and install the game.
If you pre-ordered the game or bought it from an in-game store, follow the steps below to download and install the game.
Be sure to review the Helpful tip for your platform below, guiding you to select the specific game content you wish to include in your installation to reduce your download size.
Xbox consoles (includes Game Pass)
- Go to My games & apps and select See all.
- Select Full library.
- Select All owned games.
- Find and select Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
- Select Install all.
- Helpful tip: When installing Call of Duty games on Xbox, you can select Choose what to install to select specific game content you wish to include in your installation.

PlayStation 5
- Select Game Library from the Games section on the PlayStation 5 home screen.
- Under Your Collection, find and select Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
- Select Download.
- Helpful tip: If you prefer to select specific content to install, select Install Options. From there, uncheck Select All, then choose the content you wish to include in your installation. Select OK when finished.
- Select Install.

PlayStation 4
- Select Library from the PlayStation 4 home screen.
- In the Purchased folder, find and select Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
- Helpful tip: If you prefer to select specific content to install, go to PlayStation Store from the game page, then select Your Add-ons. From there, select the Download option next to content you wish to install.
- Select Download.
- The game will install automatically.

Battle.net
For faster download, players can increase the default download speed for pre-release content in Settings.
- Launch the Battle.net app and log in to your account.
- Select Call of Duty from the Games tab.
- Select Install.
- Confirm your installation options then select Continue.
- Find and select the Call of Duty content you would like to install.
- Helpful tip: Uncheck content to exclude if you wish to customize your installation.
- Select Start Install.
Steam
- Launch the Steam app and log in to your account.
- Select Library.
- Find and select Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
- Helpful tip: If you prefer to select specific content to install, select the gear icon and go to Properties, then select the DLC tab. From there, select the game content you wish to include in your installation.
- Select the Install button to download and install the game.
Xbox on PC
- Open the Xbox app.
- Select My Library and select Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
- Select Install to download and install the game.
- Helpful tip: When installing Call of Duty games on Xbox, you can select Choose what to install to select specific game content you wish to include in your installation.

Disc installations on consoles
Insert a game disc into your console's disc drive. The game will automatically install on PlayStation consoles. On Xbox consoles, you'll be prompted to install the game. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 requires a Day One update in order to play the game. After the installation is complete, launch the game to prompt the update.
