Using COD Points in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

How to obtain and spend COD Points in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

COD Points – the in-game currency used in Call of Duty games – can be used to obtain digital content from the in-game store, including the Battle Pass. To get COD Points, visit the Store menu in the game, then select Franchise Store. You can also purchase COD Points from your platform's store.

You will only see and be able to spend COD Points on the platform you purchased them on. However, items you purchase with COD Points are shared across all platforms you have linked to your Activision account unless they are exclusive to a specific platform.

COD Points you earn through the Battle Pass can only be spent on the platform you are playing on when you unlock a Battle Pass Tier awarding COD Points.

1. What can I purchase with COD Points?

COD Points are the primary way to acquire the Battle Pass, the seasonal tiered reward system. You can also use COD Points in the in-game Store to buy Bundles that can include Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, Calling Cards, Emblems, and other digital in-game content.

2. Can I use COD Points to purchase individual digital content items?

No. Digital content items can only be purchased as part of Bundles.

3. Can I see the items I'm purchasing before I buy them?

Yes. With each Bundle, you can preview each item by hovering over it and hitting the Preview option found at the bottom of your screen.

4. How many COD Points can be purchased?

There is no limit to the number of COD Points you can purchase. COD Points acquired through promotions are limited, however, the COD Points you purchase do not count toward those limits.

5. Will my COD Points balance carry over if I upgrade within a console family (Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, or PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5)?

Yes. As long as you log in to the same Activision account, your COD Points will be available to use once you launch Modern Warfare II on a new console within the same console family.

Some content can be used across all platform accounts linked to your Activision account, and some is tied to your platform.

  • Content you purchased with COD Points can be used on any platform account linked to your Activision account.
  • COD Points you purchase or earn through the Battle Pass can only be spent on the platform account you are playing on when you buy or earn COD Points.
  • Any content purchased with real-world money can only be used on the platform account where you purchased them.

6. Will my Battle Pass progress and unlocked content carry over if I play on other platforms (upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, play on a console and PC, etc.)?

Yes. Battle Pass progress and content you unlock are tied to your Activision account. Therefore, Battle Pass progress and content will be available on all platforms as long as you play on the same linked Activision account where you originally earned the progress and content.

Please note: COD Points you earn through the Battle Pass can only be spent on the platform you are playing on when you unlock the COD Points.

7. If I change to a platform in a different family, will my COD Points balance and content carry over?

Some content can be used across all platform accounts linked to your Activision account, and some is tied to your platform account.

8. I purchased a COD Points bundle but have not received my COD Points in the game. What should I do?

In some cases, purchases may take up to 24 hours to appear in the game. If your COD Points are still not showing up after 24 hours, you may need to restart your console.

9. I used COD Points to make an in-game purchase but didn't receive my content. What should I do?

In some cases, you may need to restart your console for your purchased content to appear in the game. If restarting your console doesn't resolve your issue, please reach out to Activision Support for help.
