Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone Battle Pass and BlackCell

An overview of the reward system in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone

Launching in Season 01 and shared across Call of Duty®: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty®: Warzone™, the Battle Pass returns with the page-based rewards progression system.

Battle Pass options include:

The free Battle Pass: Available to all players, the free Battle Pass includes several rewards. With this version of the Battle Pass, you will not earn Battle Pass Tokens. Instead, rewards are unlocked in numerical order through normal gameplay.

Base Battle Pass: For 1,100 Call of Duty Points, you can upgrade to the Battle Pass to instantly unlock rewards on the Instant Rewards Page, gain access to over 100 unlockable rewards, and receive a 10% Battle Pass XP Boost

Battle Pass Bundle: For 2,400 Call of Duty Points, you can upgrade to the Battle Pass Bundle to instantly unlock rewards on the Instant Rewards Page plus 20 Battle Pass Tokens, and gain access to over 100 unlockable rewards, and receive a 10% Battle Pass XP boost.

BlackCell: Get a head start on unlocking rewards with BlackCell, which includes:

  • Access to the Battle Pass plus 20 Battle Pass Tokens
  • Unlockable BlackCell Operator Skins and Weapon Blueprints
  • 1,100 Call of Duty Points
  • BlackCell Instant Rewards Page
  • 10% Battle Pass XP Boost

Battle Pass Pages

The Battle Pass features rewards contained in a series of Pages, with Page 1 unlocked by default at the beginning of each Season. Each Page contains several rewards, also known as Tiers, along with one High-Value Target (HVT). Tiers can be unlocked and claimed in any order you wish using Battle Pass Tokens.

Once all Tiers on a Page are unlocked, the HVT becomes available. Unlocking and claiming the HVT completes the Page and unlocks the next Page of the Battle Pass.

All Pages can be previewed before they are unlocked.

Please note: Players without the Base Battle Pass, Battle Pass Bundle or BlackCell earn the rewards marked Free on each Page. Upgrading to the Base Battle Pass, Battle Pass Bundle or BlackCell will entitle you to previous rewards.

Unlocking New Battle Pass Pages

While you need to unlock and claim all Tiers on a Page to gain access to the HVT, you only need to unlock and claim five Tiers on a Page to unlock the next Page of the Battle Pass.

Battle Pass Tokens

The XP you earn across all public game modes in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone contributes to earning Battle Pass Tokens. Battle Pass Tokens are then used to unlock Tiers in the Battle Pass.

Battle Pass Tokens can also be purchased with Call of Duty Points.

Please note: Players with the free Battle Pass do not have access to Battle Pass Tokens.

Unlocking and Claiming Rewards

Each Tier on a Page must be unlocked to complete the Page and progress to the next Page of the Battle Pass. Unlocking a Tier on a Page also claims the reward. Rewards marked Free are available to all players but still need to be claimed.

Battle Pass Token Bank

As you earn Battle Pass Tokens through gameplay, they will be added to your Battle Token Bank. You can see the balance of your Battle Token Bank when entering the Battle Pass.

Auto-spending Battle Pass Tokens

The Battle Pass is designed to let to choose which rewards you want to unlock on an unlocked Page. However, you can also set your Battle Pass to Auto. When turned on, this feature will automatically unlock and claim Tiers in numerical order as you earn Battle Pass Tokens.

BlackCell Bonus: Unlock One Page Early

When you enter the Battle Pass for the first time, Page 1 will be unlocked by default. However, BlackCell owners have an option to begin unlocking Tiers on any Page of the Battle Pass before unlocking Tiers on Page 1.

For example, let’s say at the beginning of a Season, you see a reward you want right away on Page 7. You can start your Battle Pass on that Page and begin unlocking and claiming rewards. However, once Page 7 is complete, you will not unlock Page 8 unless you have also completed Pages 1 through 6. Instead, your journey continues on the lowest Page that is unlocked but not yet complete.

BlackCell Bonus: Extra Daily Challenges

BlackCell owners receive additional Daily Challenges throughout each season, giving players more opportunities to earn XP. Extra Daily Challenges are available for Co-Op Campaign’s Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.

1. Are there different versions of the Battle Pass?

Yes, each Season includes a brand-new Battle Pass containing rewards that were not previously available.

The free Battle Pass is free to all players, offering several rewards.

The Base Battle Pass  available for 1,100 Call of Duty Points — includes full access to the Battle Pass, instantly-unlocked rewards on the Instant Rewards Page, access to over 100 unlockable rewards, and a 10% Battle Pass XP Boost.

The Battle Pass Bundle — available for 2,400 Call of Duty Points — includes full access to the Battle Pass, 20 Battle Pass Tokens, instantly-unlocked rewards on the Instant Rewards Page, access to over 100 unlockable rewards, and a 10% Battle Pass XP boost.

BlackCell includes full access to the Battle Pass, 20 Battle Pass Tokens, instantly-unlocked rewards on the BlackCell Instant Rewards Page, and other BlackCell rewards.

2. Do I need the Battle Pass to play Black Ops 7 or Warzone?

The free Battle Pass is available to all players. However, upgrading to the Base Battle Pass, Battle Pass Bundle or BlackCell is an optional addition to your Call of Duty experience. Base Battle Pass, Battle Pass Bundle or BlackCell rewards are cosmetic and do not provide any gameplay advantages.

3. Can I buy individual rewards from a Battle Pass?

Aside from Call of Duty Points, rewards within the Battle Pass can only be obtained by unlocking them with Battle Pass Tokens.

4. Can I buy the Battle Pass from previous Seasons?

No. The Battle Pass for a specific Season expires when a new Season begins.

5. If I upgrade to the Base Battle Pass, Battle Pass Bundle or BlackCell during a Season, will I need to start at the beginning?

No. With the free Battle Pass, you progress through Pages and Tiers, claiming the Free rewards along the way. If you upgrade to either the Base Battle Pass, Battle Pass Bundle or BlackCell, you’ll be entitled to claim all previous rewards up to your current Page and Tier.

6. Will my Battle Pass progress and unlocked content be available if I play on other platforms (upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, play on a console and PC, etc.)?

Yes. Excluding Call of Duty Points, Battle Pass progress and rewards you unlock are tied to your Activision account. Therefore, Battle Pass progress and rewards will be available on all platforms as long as you play on the same linked Activision account where you originally earned the progress and rewards.

Please note: Call of Duty Points you earn through the Battle Pass can only be spent on the platform you are playing on when you unlock the Call of Duty Points.

7. Do Battle Pass Tokens carry over from Season to Season?

At the end of each Season, any unspent Battle Pass Tokens you have earned or purchased will be automatically spent on remaining Battle Pass rewards along a pre-set path to complete the Battle Pass. When the next Season begins, you will be presented with an overview of the rewards that were unlocked.

8. If I purchase the Base Battle Pass or the Battle Pass Bundle, will I be able to upgrade to BlackCell later in the Season?

Yes. In addition to the exclusive rewards you can unlock with BlackCell, you will instantly receive the 1,100 Call of Duty Points you spent on your original Battle Pass purchase from that Season when you upgrade.

9. How does BlackCell work if I own the Vault Edition on multiple platforms?

If you purchase more than one Vault Edition, you will receive a BlackCell with each Vault Edition. However, you may only have one BlackCell active per Activision account per season.

For example:

  1. If you own the Vault Edition on two different platforms and both platform accounts are linked to the same Activision account, you will have access to BlackCell on all linked accounts in two different seasons. Your BlackCell progress will be shared across all linked platforms in each season.
  2. If you own the Vault Edition on two different platforms and the platform accounts are not linked to the same Activision account, your BlackCell progress will not be shared across platforms.

Battle Pass Tokens (Tier Skips)

Battle Pass Tokens included with BlackCell are applied to your Activision account the first time you log in to play.

If you own the Vault Edition on multiple platforms, the Battle Pass Tokens included with BlackCell are applied to your Activision account the first time you log in to play on a platform where you own the Vault Edition.

Since Battle Pass Tokens are applied to Activision accounts, it’s possible to receive more than 20 Battle Pass Tokens from BlackCell in one season. For example:

  1. You own the Vault Edition on Xbox and Steam, and both accounts are linked to your Activision account.
  2. You log in to play Black Ops 7 on Xbox during Season 01, which gives you access to the Season 01 BlackCell and 20 Battle Pass Tokens.
  3. During Season 01, you log in to play Black Ops 7 on Steam.

In this scenario, your 20 Battle Pass Tokens from both your Steam and Xbox Vault Edition BlackCell will be applied to your Activision account and be usable during Season 01. The BlackCell from your Steam Vault Edition will be available on all linked platforms when Season 02 begins.

Important! At the end of a season, Battle Pass Tokens you do not spend will be automatically spent on remaining Battle Pass rewards (see Question 7 above). Any remaining unspent Battle Pass Tokens will carry over into the next season.
