Learn more about the various game modes available in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time follows the story of Crash and his friends as they try to save the multiverse after the evil scientists Neo Cortex and N. Tropy tear a hole in the universe. However, playing through the story is just the beginning. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time offers three different game modes, allowing you to play and replay the game.
Normal
Your first playthrough of each level is considered Normal mode. This mode features the standard storyline where Crash and Coco set out to save the day.
Time Trial
In Time Trial mode, your goal is to complete the level as quickly as possible. Time Trial levels have no checkpoints, so if your character dies, you’ll have to restart the Time Trial at the beginning.
After you complete each level in Normal mode, you will unlock that level’s Time Trial. Then, you activate a Time Trial by collecting the stopwatch icon at the beginning of the level.
N.Verted
N.Verted mode features alternate versions of each level on the Main Path, Bosses, and Timelines. The path on each level is inverted and features different visual effects that are unique to each dimension. N.Verted mode unlocks after completing the Trouble Brewing level in the Tranquility Falls dimension. N.Verted mode also unlocks six new collectible Gems in each level.
