Installation on PC

Be sure you have your game settings set auto-update to ensure the game is ready to go at launch.

  • On Battle.net: If you have not launched Modern Warfare III within the last 30 days, you will need to download updates manually.
  • On Steam: We recommend using High Priority under Always keep this game updated.

Battle.net

For faster download, players can increase the default download speed for pre-release content in Settings.

  1. Launch the Battle.net app and log in to your account.
  2. Select All Games.
  3. Find and select Call of Duty.
  4. Confirm the installation location on your computer, then select Install to download and install the game.

Disc installations on consoles

Insert a game disc into your console's disc drive. The game will automatically install on PlayStation consoles. On Xbox consoles, you'll be prompted to install the game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III requires a Day One update in order to play the game. After the installation is complete, launch the game to prompt the update.

Please note: Call of Duty HQ continues to evolve, bringing multiple titles to Call of Duty players from one, single destination. The following is a known issue.

Physical Disk Identification: Some players will encounter changes with how Call of Duty games are listed during the download and installation process. For example, some players who install Modern Warfare III from a physical disk may first see the Modern Warfare II icon and name listed until Call of Duty HQ has fully updated after a Day One patch to unlock Modern Warfare III. This is due to production lead times during ongoing Call of Duty HQ development.

The Software License and Service Agreement will be updated. Please follow this link [https://www.activision.com/legal/ap-eula] in order to see these changes.
