1. An in-game message says that the profile I'm using is suspended for glitching.
If you receive an in-game message stating that the profile you are signed in to has been suspended or banned for glitching, a user on this profile was found to have been abusing an exploit in game code or other established rule of play. An example of glitching includes, but is not limited to, using a hole in the map to intentionally go outside of the map boundary.

First offense: The profile is temporarily suspended from playing online multiplayer due to exploitation of in-game code or other established rules of play. In addition, the profile will have stats and emblems reset, and will have leaderboard entries deleted. Multiple infractions may result in a permanent ban from playing online multiplayer. Suspensions for first offenses last for 48 hours to one week.

Second offense: The profile is temporarily suspended from playing online multiplayer due to exploitation of in-game code or other established rules of play. In addition, the profile will have stats and emblems reset, and will have leaderboard entries deleted. Multiple infractions may result in a permanent ban from playing online multiplayer. Suspensions for second offenses last for two weeks.

Extreme or multiple repeat offenses: The profile is permanently banned from playing online multiplayer due to exploitation of in-game code or other established rules of play. In addition, the profile is permanently banned from split-screen features, will have stats and emblems reset, and will be permanently blocked from appearing on leaderboards.

2. An in-game message says that the profile I'm using is suspended for boosting.

If you receive the in-game message above, the profile you are signed in to has been temporarily suspended from online play as a warning for suspected boosting, which is defined as colluding with other players to exploit the game for the purpose of gaining XP, prestige, game score, weapon level, or in-game unlocks. Suspensions typically last 48 hours to one week, and may last longer due to the severity of the infraction or repeat offenses. Once a suspension is lifted, your stats and emblems will be reset, and your leaderboard entries may be deleted.

Previously suspended players found to be boosting again may receive a full reset of stats, inventory, and leaderboard, or may be subject to a permanent ban.

3. An in-game message says that the profile I'm using is suspended for reverse boosting.

If you receive an in-game message stating that the profile you are signed in to has been suspended or banned for reverse boosting, a user on this profile was found to have been exploiting the game for the purpose of adjusting matchmaking rank. Reverse boosting includes, but is not limited to, joining games and repeatedly performing suicides. Multiple suicides will result in being kicked from the game, and multiple kicks from games due to suicides will result in getting banned from playing online multiplayer.

Continued reverse boosting may lead to a profile being temporarily suspended or permanently banned from playing online multiplayer.

4. An in-game message says that my profile is banned.

If you receive one of the messages above, the profile you are signed in to will no longer be able to participate in online games of Call of Duty, or portions thereof.

Profile bans are generally the result of boosting, which is defined as colluding with other players to exploit the game for the purpose of gaining XP, prestige, game score, weapon level, or in-game unlocks. Players who are found to be boosting will receive a temporary suspension as a warning. Players who are found to be boosting repeatedly may be subject to a permanent ban. Players who are found to be boosting using the online split-screen feature may also be banned from online split-screen privileges.

If you receive the message above, an emblem on the profile you are signed in to was removed for being in violation of the Security & Enforcement Policy, and the profile will no longer have access to this feature. Any user who creates an emblem with foul language, sexually gratuitous images, or racially offensive material is subject to penalty.

5. An in-game message says that an emblem reset was issued on my profile.

If you receive the message above, an emblem on the profile you are signed in to was removed for being in violation of the Security & Enforcement Policy. The next infraction may lead to a ban from using the Emblem Editor.

6. An in-game message says that the profile I'm using is temporarily suspended from ranked play.
ranked-play-suspension
If you receive the in-game message above, the profile you are signed in to has been temporarily suspended from participating in ranked play matches. These suspensions occur when a player quits a ranked play match early, and can be avoided by completing an entire ranked play match.

Once the suspension has been lifted, you can once again join a ranked play match.

7. An in-game message says that the profile I'm using is not eligible for Ranked Play rewards.
If you receive an in-game message stating that the profile you are signed in to was found to be in violation of the Security & Enforcement Policy during the last Ranked Play season, this profile is no longer eligible for Ranked Play rewards during the Ranked Play season. Violations in Ranked Play include, but are not limited to, boosting, reverse boosting, glitching, or hacking/modding during the Ranked Play season regardless of the Game Mode where the violation occurred.

Further, ineligibility to receive Ranked Play rewards will carry over on banned accounts that are transferred to upgraded consoles.

8. An in-game message says that a full inventory reset was issued on my profile.

If you received the message above, a full inventory reset was issued on this profile. This means that this profile’s inventory was found to contain loot that was not gained from normal gameplay.

9. Where do I go to get a ban or suspension overturned?
Temporary suspensions typically last 48 hours to one week, and may last longer due to the severity of the infraction or repeat offenses. Suspensions will not be overturned or undone before they expire.

Permanent bans are only issued under extreme conditions.

We take these measures to preserve the experience of all our Call of Duty players, and we do not take bans lightly. You are responsible for your online account and console hardware, and any actions taken in any Call of Duty title, so please be careful who you allow to access your account.

10. How do I avoid having actions taken against my account?
When playing Call of Duty online, we encourage you to play fair, have fun, and be respectful of other online players.

To assist us in keeping Call of Duty online fair, fun, and safe for all players, we regularly monitor stats, review player reports, and take action on player behavior that violates the spirit of the game.

Here are some guidelines for playing Call of Duty online that will help safeguard your profile from being suspended or banned or otherwise disciplined.
  • Treat your fellow players with respect. The use of aggressive, offensive, derogatory, or racially charged language or emblems will not be tolerated.
  • Everyone plays Call of Duty differently and we encourage playing with friends. However, playing with other players to exploit the game for the purpose of gaining XP, prestige, game score, weapon level, or in-game unlocks is considered boosting and is not allowed in online matches as it creates a poor experience for others.
  • Do not modify your console hardware, game software, or otherwise attempt in any way to ruin the experience of others.
  • Improving your network setup to better your connection is great and encouraged, but modifying your setup with malicious intent to impact others' Call of Duty experience is not accepted.
  • Send in-game player reports if you suspect that a player is cheating, or if a player is using offensive or abusive language or emblems.
  • Play Call of Duty with your friends or people you know. Be cautious of strangers who may invite you to their lobbies.
