Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Windows 10 Compatibility

Recommended Windows 10 version for playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

If you were linked to this article in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the game detected that your PC is running Windows 10 version 1703 or older. These versions of Windows 10 are known to cause stability issues with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and are not supported by the game as they are no longer supported by Microsoft.

We recommend upgrading Windows 10 to Windows version 1809 or newer. Follow the steps below to update your Windows 10.

  1. Open the Start menu and select the gear icon to open Settings.
  2. Select Update & Security, then select Windows Update.
  3. Select Check for updates.

Available updates should begin downloading and installing automatically. Be sure to allow updates to install completely before returning to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Please note: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare cannot be played on Windows 8 as the operating system does not support DX12.
