Owners of a digital version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time for PlayStation 4 will have the option to upgrade to a PlayStation 5 version of the game at no cost** through the PlayStation Store. An internet connection is required to upgrade the game.

Physical versions

Owners of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time for PlayStation 4 on disc will have the option to use the game disc to download or play the game on PlayStation 5 at no cost**. An internet connection is required to upgrade the game.

To download or play the game on PlayStation 5, insert your Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time game disc into your PlayStation 5 and launch the game. You will need to keep your disc in your PlayStation 5 every time you wish to play.

** Upgrade offer will cost 100 Yen in Japan.

Please note: The physical version upgrade offer is not compatible with the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition disc-free console.

Transferring saved game data

Follow these steps to transfer your saved game data from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5.

Please note: Only progression-related trophies that you’ve unlocked on PlayStation 4 will transfer to PlayStation 5. All other trophies that were unlocked on PlayStation 4 will need to be unlocked again on PlayStation 5.

Before you begin, be sure your consoles are connected to the internet and that you're logged in to your PlayStation account.

1. Launch Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time on your PlayStation 4.
2. Navigate to the Select a Save Slot screen.
3. Select the data slot you wish to transfer.
4. Select Upload to Cloud.
5. Confirm your selection, then select Upload to Cloud again.
6. Once the upload is complete, select Continue to return to the game.
7. Launch Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time on your PlayStation 5
8. Navigate to the Select a Save Slot screen.
9. Select an open data slot, then select Download Cloud Save.
10. Confirm your selection, then select Download Cloud Save again.
11. When prompted, enter your initials and select Next.
12. When prompted, choose Modern or Retro playstyle.
13. Once the download is complete, select Continue to return to the game.
