Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone Battle Pass

How the new reward system works across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II and Call of Duty®: Warzone™ introduces a brand-new iteration of the Battle Pass. With a host of innovations to progression, players will have more choices and agency than ever before.

Instead of a linear stream of tiers set out in a scrolling row along the bottom of your screen, your Battle Pass takes the form of a multi-Sector map. Use Battle Token Tier Skips to claim items in a Sector. Claim all items in a Sector to unlock adjacent Sectors.

The base Battle Pass is free to all players and includes 20 free items. Upgrade your Battle Pass for 1,100 COD Points to receive access to all 100+ items. You can also get a head start on unlocking those rewards with the BlackCell Battle Pass Bundle, which includes access to all 100+ items, 20 Battle Token Tier Skips — 25 if you're on PlayStation® — and other exclusive rewards. BATTLE PASS SECTORS

The Battle Pass map is made up of 20 Sectors, and each Sector contains five rewards. Claim all five rewards with Battle Token Tier Skips to unlock new Sectors.

 

CLAIMING REWARDS

  1. Select an unlocked (yellow) Sector on the Battle Pass map to zoom in on the Sector's rewards.
  2. Highlight a reward and select Claim.
    • Note: Whether you have the base or premium Battle Pass, rewards marked Free are available to all players and must be claimed with a Battle Token Tier Skip.
  3. You will need to claim the four base rewards before you can claim the High-Value Target (HVT) reward.

Players with the base Battle Pass need to claim all five rewards in a Sector to unlock new Sectors but will only receive the reward marked Free. When upgrading to the premium Battle Pass, all rewards that have been claimed will be available to use.

 

UNLOCKING NEW SECTORS

Claim the High-Value Target (HVT) in a Sector to unlock adjacent Sectors. You can choose any path on the Battle Pass map, but you can only unlock new Sectors next to those you've already unlocked (green Sectors).

 

BATTLE TOKEN TIER SKIP BANK

As you play the game, you will earn Battle Token Tier Skips, which are used to unlock rewards in Sectors on the Battle Pass. You may also purchase Battle Token Tier Skips.

1. Are there different versions of the Battle Pass?

Yes, each Season includes a brand-new Battle Pass containing items that were not previously available.

2. Do I need the Battle Pass to play Modern Warfare II or Warzone?

The base Battle Pass is free to all players. However, upgrading to the full Battle Pass — either as a standalone purchase or included in the BlackCell Battle Pass Bundle — is an optional addition to your Modern Warfare II and Warzone experience. It does not offer players an advantage over other players without the full Battle Pass.

3. Can I buy individual items from a Battle Pass?

Aside from COD Points, items within the Battle Pass can only be obtained by unlocking them with Battle Token Tier Skips.

4. Can I buy the Battle Pass from previous Seasons?

No. A Battle Pass for a specific Season expires when a new Season begins.

5. If I upgrade to the full Battle Pass during a Season, will I need to start at the beginning?

No. As you progress through a Season, you will always earn Battle Token Tier Skips. Upgrading to the full Battle Pass during a Season will make more Sectors available, allowing you to unlock more rewards with your unspent Battle Pass Tier Skips.

6. Will my Battle Pass progress and unlocked content carry over if I play on other platforms (upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, play on a console and PC, etc.)?

Yes. Battle Pass progress and content you unlock are tied to your Activision account. Therefore, Battle Pass progress and content will be available on all platforms as long as you play on the same linked Activision account where you originally earned the progress and content.

Please note: COD Points you earn through the Battle Pass can only be spent on the platform you are playing on when you unlock the COD Points.

7. Do Battle Pass Tier Skips carry over from Season to Season?

At the end of each Modern Warfare II Season, any unspent Battle Token Tier Skips will be auto-spent on remaining Battle Pass rewards along a pre-set path to complete the Battle Map. Any extra Battle Token Tier Skips that are not auto-spent will carry over to the next Modern Warfare II Season. When the next Season begins, you will be presented with an overview of the rewards that were unlocked.

8. If I purchase the regular Battle Pass, will I be able to upgrade to the BlackCell later in the Season?

Yes. In addition, you will instantly receive the 1,100 COD Points used on your original Battle Pass purchase from that Season when you upgrade to the BlackCell.
