This page contains a running list of issues that have been identified or reported in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and are either under investigation or scheduled to be fixed. Be sure to check back often as we'll continually update this page.

Issue Description

I keep getting the message “Your data is corrupt or unusable” when I try to access the local/custom menu.

– PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

We're working to fix an issue causing the error "Your data is corrupt or unusable” when attempting to create local/custom games.

I can't get rid of the green marker indicating I have a new Calling Card.

– All platforms

We're working to remove the green marker appearing next to the Calling Card menu even though there is nothing new to view.

The game stopped recognizing my mouse inputs.

– PC

We've identified and are working to fix issues with mouse functionality.

In the meantime, please try disabling Xbox Game Bar.

  1. Shut down Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
  2. Hit Windows+G and allow the window to open completely.
  3. Hit Windows+G again to close.
  4. Relaunch the game.

I'm getting a "Clan Tag Denied" message.

– All platforms

We're investigating reports that some players are receiving a "Clan Tag Denied" message when attempting to create or change a Clan Tag.

I keep getting a message that says “Update requires restart”.

– PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

We’re working to fix an issue causing players to get caught in an update loop.

In the meantime, some players have found that clearing cache on their consoles ends this update loop. Follow the steps in this article to clear your console’s cache. In some cases, clearing cache may need to be done multiple times between attempts to load the game.

I earned Killstreaks in a match, but they don't appear in the HUD.
– PlayStation 4
We're investigating an issue where players earn Killstreaks in a Realism match, but there is no indicator of earning them in the lower right corner of the screen.
I'm getting Dev Error 6065/6066/6068.
– PC

We've identified an issue that is causing hang crashes on the GPU, particularly during Campaign cutscenes. These crashes will be addressed in an upcoming patch.

Workaround: Try running VRAM under maximum and/or run the game with the default settings.

Regiment tags appearing as [ 3 3 ]

We fixed an issue that was causing Regiment tags to appear as [ 3 3 ].


Players disappearing in matches

We fixed an issue with the Dallas Empire Operator Skin losing visibility at far ranges.


Missing Officer Rank Challenges emblem

We’ve awarded Season 0 Officer Rank Challenge emblems to players who earned them.


Elite Sniper mission

We’ve updated the Elite Sniper mission to indicate that Objective 7 tracks kills with a Marksman or Sniper Rifle using a Scope.


Savannah error

Savannah errors typically occur when an update is being deployed. Once the latest version of the game is installed, the error no longer appears.


Splitscreen matchmaking

We fixed an issue that prevented players from finding Multiplayer matches while playing in splitscreen.


Killed by a weapon not aimed at you

We resolved an issue where an enemy's weapon appeared to be pointing in different directions when aimed at its target.


GPU driver version does not meet minimum requirements

If you're getting a message that says your GPU driver version does not meet the minimum requirements, please check out Updating Video Card Drivers on a PC to be sure that your drivers are up to date. If your drivers are up to date, be sure to try the following:

  • If you're using multiple monitors, try unplugging a monitor, launching the game, and then plugging the monitor back in.
  • Disable your integrated/onboard graphics card.


Cannot access the Graphics menu on PC

We fixed an issue where selecting the Graphics menu on PC took players back to the main menu.


Cannot activate RTX

If you're having trouble activating RTX, be sure your version of Windows and your video card drivers are up to date. RTX requires running Windows 1809 and above.


Launcher progression

We fixed an issue where launcher progression was only counting XP from enemy kills and not from destroying Killstreaks.


XRK Weapons Pack

We resolved an issue with the delivery of the XRK Weapons Pack included with all digital editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Please note: The base versions of the XRK Weapons need to be unlocked through progression before they can be added to a Loadout and used in game. Be sure to check the Armory for your XRK Weapons. The XRK M4 Weapon Blueprint is listed under Assault Rifles and the XRK .357 is listed under Handguns.


Operator Pack

We resolved an issue with the delivery of the Operator Pack included with the Operator, Operator Enhanced, and Physical Precision editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.


Weapon Master and Well Equipped challenges

We resolved graphical errors with the final reward for completing the Weapon Master (Urban Defiler pistol) and Well Equipped (Judgment shotgun) challenges.


Xbox One X crashes

We've resolved issues that were causing crashes on Xbox One X.


Commando camo for .357

The requirements for the .357 Commando camo are now available in game.


Graphical glitches in Campaign

We’ve resolved several texture, lighting, and shading issues in Campaign.


Memory error 21 1749

We resolved Memory error 21 1749, which would occasionally result after playing consecutive Ground War matches.

If you receive this error, try restarting the game.


Dev Error 6144

We resolved a Dev Error 6144, which occurred for players when another player attempted to join a Multiplayer match that's in progress.


Progression bars

We resolved graphical issues related to progression bars displaying progression toward Camos, Missions, and Challenges.
