Crash Bandicoot 4™: It's About Time Accessibility

Details about accessibility features available in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time

Below you will find information about the various accessibility benefits and features available in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.

If you experience any issues, have any concerns, or run into any barriers preventing you from playing and enjoying the game, we want to hear from you. Please reach out to us and be sure to include as much detail as possible.

1. Are there options to change the difficulty in the game?

Yes. In Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, you have the option to play the game in two different playstyles: Retro and Modern.

In Modern playstyle, when your character dies, you will return to the last checkpoint where you can continue the game.

In the Retro playstyle, you will have a limited amount of lives, but you'll also be able to collect extra lives along the way. If you run out of lives, you'll need to restart the level from the beginning. Lives are represented by a floating head of the current character you're playing.

You can change Playstyles at any time by opening the Options menu and selecting Gameplay.

Your Playstyle choice does not affect the reward progress and does not affect the in-level challenge.

2. What is the Enhanced Shadow feature?

Enhanced Shadows are the pronounced rings that appear directly below the player character and some enemies. These were designed to help players better perceive depth and distance in 3D space.
