Yes. Portals of Power are backward compatible, which means that the Skylanders Imaginators version of the Portal of Power will work with all Skylanders games that were released before it.
Yes. While it’s always recommended to use the latest Portal of Power with your Skylanders games, older Portals of Power will work with Skylanders Imaginators. Portals of Power from games before Skylanders Trap Team, however, might not work as well with features added in later games. You might also face challenges with Skylanders SWAP Force characters on older Portals of Power. In addition, Traps cannot be used with Portals or Power that do not have a slot for Traps.
There are four possible reasons for this message:
If the Portal of Power will not turn on, try plugging it into another USB port. If the Portal of Power works, your console may require service for a broken USB port. If the Portal of Power does not work in another USB port, and the Portal is still under warranty, you will need to have it replaced.
