Managing Your Activision Account

How to register for an account, link and unlink console accounts, and set your contact preferences

Need help investigating unauthorized activity on your Activision account? Submit a support request.

Registering for an Account

Activision accounts offer exclusive rewards and give you access to the latest intel to enhance your gameplay. If you do not have an Activision account, you can create a free one.

Activision accounts also enable cross-progression on all accounts you have linked to your Activision account. Because game progression in crossplay-enabled games is stored on your Activision account, you can play on any platform you have linked to your account, and your progression carries over.

You can register for an account using an existing gaming account with PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Blizzard. When registering with a gaming account, you will be taken to the gaming network's website to verify your login information.

If you don't have a gaming account, you can choose Mobile.

Linking Platform Accounts

PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Blizzard, and Nintendo accounts can be linked to an Activision account.

Follow these steps to link a platform account:

  1. Log in to the platform account you wish to link.
  2. In the same browser, log in to your Activision account.
  3. Select the LINKED ACCOUNTS tab on your Activision account.
  4. Select the Link Account button next to the account you wish to link.
    • Please note: Activision accounts may only have one account linked per manufacturer.
  5. Account verification is required to make this change to your account. Select SEND CODE to have a one-time verification code sent to the email account associated with your Activision account.
  6. Enter the Verification Code you were sent to confirm you’re the owner of the account, then select CONTINUE.
  7. You will be taken to the platform account provider’s website to complete the account linking process.

Please note: Games with cross-progression store game progress on your Activision account, not your platform account. If you choose to link your platform account to another Activision account, your progress will not carry over. Your progress and content aren't lost. If you relink this platform account to the original Activision account, you can continue your progression and access your owned content.

Unlinking Platform Accounts

You may unlink individual platform accounts from an Activision account once every 12 months.

Follow these steps to unlink a platform account:

  1. Sign in to your Activision account.
  2. In the ACCOUNT LINKING section, find the account you wish to unlink and select UNLINK.
    • Please note: Games with cross-progression store game progress on your Activision account, not your platform account. If you choose to link your platform account to another Activision account, your progress will not carry over. Your progress and content aren't lost. If you relink this platform account to the original Activision account, you can continue your progression and access your owned content.
  3. Check the confirmation box and select CONTINUE.

If you wish to unlink an account due to a lost password or an email account you can no longer access, follow the steps below to reset the password or email address for your Activision account.

  1. Go to the Activision account login page.
  2. Choose the platform account you wish to use to log in, and you'll be redirected to the platform's login page.
  3. Log in to your platform account, and you'll be redirected back to the Activision website.
  4. Hover over your Display Name at the top of the page and select BASIC INFO.
  5. Select EDIT next to your password.
  6. Enter a new password, reenter the same password, then select SAVE.
  7. In the pop-up, select the same platform you chose in Step 2.
  8. Return to BASIC INFO and select EDIT next to the email address.
  9. Enter a valid email address you can access and select SAVE.
  10.  In the pop-up, enter your new password from Step 6.

Linking Twitch Accounts

Follow these steps to link your Twitch account.

  1. Sign in to your Twitch account.
  2. In the same browser, sign in to your Activision account.
  3. In the ACCOUNT LINKING section, select Link with Twitch Account.
  4. Select CONTINUE. You will be taken back to Twitch to complete the account linking process.

Forgotten Password

If you can't remember your Activision account password, you can submit a request to have your password reset. After you submit a request, a password reset link will be sent to the email address associated with your Activision account.

The password reset link expires after 24 hours.

If you don't have access to the email address on your account, you will not be able to reset your password.

Due to privacy and security concerns, Activision Support may be unable to change account details.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Make your account more secure by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA). With 2FA enabled, a code generated by a third-party authenticator app on your personal device will be required whenever you log in to your account.

When you're creating an account for the first time, you'll be presented with an option to set up 2FA. You can also enable 2FA in the PRIVACY & SECURITY section of your account.

Follow these steps to set up 2FA.

  1. Download and install a supported authenticator app* on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Log in to your Activision account.
  3. Go to the PRIVACY & SETTINGS section.
  4. Select ENABLE TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION.
  5. Check your inbox for an email with a code. Enter the code to confirm you’re the owner of the account.
    • Please note: You will only need to confirm you own an account once per login session. If you’ve already confirmed to make other changes to your account, you will not need to confirm again.
  6. Open the authenticator app to add your Activision account.
    • Authy: Select Add Account and Scan QR Code
    • Duo Mobile: Select Use a QR code
    • Google Authenticator: Tap the plus (+) sign and select Scan a QR code
    • Microsoft Authenticator: Tap the plus (+) sign to add account and select Other for type of account
  7. Tap ADD ACCOUNT in the authenticator app.
  8. Enter your Activision account password, then enter the 6-digit authentication code from the authenticator app (listed under Activision).
  9. Select Activate to complete the setup.

After setting up 2FA, you will also be given ten backup codes to use if you can't access your authenticator app.

Be sure to keep your backup codes somewhere safe but accessible. Since the backup codes are mainly used when you cannot access your authenticator app, we recommend keeping your backup codes somewhere other than on the device with the app.

* Authy, Duo Mobile, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator
